Our Leadership

As CIO, Derek oversees the cross-corporate technology infrastructure, cyber security, and IT project work within all UCX divisions. His career has always been in technology development, having graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. Derek trained as part of Fidelity Investment’s LEAP program for software engineers and continued with full-stack engineering of iPad applications for the financial firm.

In 2016 he was part of the second class to graduate from Cornell Tech with a Master’s in Business Administration, seeing firsthand how to apply technology to business use cases, and bring entrepreneurship to large organizations. He is a big proponent of Agile project methodologies and pushing change management as a companywide skill.
